“This artwork fuses the classical form of a Greek statue with the playful imagery of a Japanese Maneki-neko cat, blending tradition and modernity in a whimsical yet thought-provoking way.
The arm's unexpected emergence from the statue's groin challenges expectations and invites the viewer to look closer.
Inclusion of a censor bar across the figure’s eyes injects a cheeky, risque tone while keeping the mood playful.
An altered photograph of a toilet bowl frames the figure with a soft ceramic curve, without competing for attention.”

Sean Dooley is a Launceston-based artist with a love for quirky and whimsical creations. He works across multiple mediums; including wearable art, sculptures, and paintings, with a playful approach to art.
