“I am a proud Darumbal and South Sea Islander woman who recently moved to Lutruwita/Tasmania to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Art and continue developing my cultural practice.
I have recently joined Sawtooth ARI as Secretary to the Board, where I am excited to contribute to the organisation, support local artists and learn more about the creative community here.
After many years working in government, I moved into the creative arts space at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra, where I delivered the Dhiraamalang program each year. That experience helped me decide to pursue a bachelor’s in fine art and continue building a practice grounded in culture, truth telling and community.
At Sawtooth ARI, I hope to keep learning, build relationships with local mob and artists, and explore ways to support First Nations truth telling through a mob lens. I am interested in how different ways of knowing, being and making can shape a creative practice and create space for meaningful conversations.
I am looking forward to growing my cultural knowledge and practice while in this role, and continue contributing to new and exciting ways of showcasing artists, mob truth telling and community-led creative projects.”
