“Lakes and rivers surround Launceston and one of the themes of my paintings features water, its reflections and surroundings.”
My paintings are inspired by the environment of Tasmania especially the changing moods of the seasons from summer to winter. The subject matter of my work ranges from realist to narrative and also abstract interpretations of ideas. I work in various mediums covering painting, mixed media, monoprinting/collage and 3D pieces.
I have been a finalist in the Glover Prize, dAda mUse Surrealist Prize, Burnie Print Prize, National Shoebox Sculpture award, ANL Maritine Art Prize, Docklands Melbourne, Bay of Fires Art Prize, Tasmanian Women’s Art Prize and others. I completed a PhD at the University of Tasmania in 2005. I am currently represented by Blenheim Gallery, Longford.
