Reflections on Tamar River - 2023
Hand made ochre egg tempera on celery top pine board
15 × 15cm

It is amazing what colours are manageable when using ochres..... add in egg yolk from my Bantam hens and you have subtle reflections of nature.

Snéhi Jarvis is an emerging artist, completing a Bachelor Fine Arts (1st class Honours) in November 2023, winning the Sawtooth ARI prize. She is a musician - a classical singer and composer; attributes allowing her to follow her passion of art experimentation, since art and music have similar processes. She found art whilst becoming visually impaired, retiring from a working life in health sciences and education.

Her commitment is to making ecological art, with her artworks able to be returned to the Earth as biological nutrients. She works with pastels, egg tempera, and watercolour paints that she makes by processing raw ochre, and uses traditional wood supports and handmade gesso.

Please note: Artworks cannot be shipped. All purchases must be collected on Saturday 14 September, between 12–4pm. If you’re unable to collect during this time, please email us at sawtoothari@gmail.comto arrange an alternative.
