Nick Puklowski was born in New Zealand in 1964. He has been a practising artist since leaving school and started his career at the age of 19 with a commissioned mural in Dunedin that covered 300 square metres. He went on to paint backdrops for bands and to exhibit nationally over a period of 30 years. He has studied drawing at East Sydney Tech, and art education at Waikato University.
He was employed as an exhibition manager at the Centre for Contemporary Art, a privately owned gallery and collection that was run like a public art space that paid contemporary artists from NZ and Australia to exhibit. He later established his own community gallery and created one of the first websites to sell art online.
Puklowski has recently moved to Launceston and has purchased a coffee shop business. He is currently working on a series of illustrations that he intends to publish as a book.
